Hidden Figures: Women in STEAM

A New Jersey Makers Day Event

Bring your whole family to this statewide celebration of maker culture spotlighting hands on STEAM-based learning. Explore history and create DIY souvenirs together, all while learning about influential women in STEAM.

  • Create illuminated paper lanterns and learn about Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta’s invention of Luminaid.
  • Build your own robot and learn about Ayah Bdeir and LittleBits Electronics.
  • Create digital art in FTC’s Light Painting class.
  • Explore the maker space at STEAMworks in a wood etching class, and record your own CD in the recording studio!

New Jersey Makers Day is a celebration of maker culture across the Garden State. This all-ages event connects individuals with makerspaces that support making, tinkering, crafting, manufacturing, and STEM-based learning.
